We have been waiting our whole life for this moment – King Karl (Lagerfeld) just confirmed that his hometown – Hamburg – will be the next location for the
Chanel Métiers d’Art show on December 6th.
Karl Lagerfeld knows how to pull off amazing fashion shows. The
Grand Palais is his favourite location in Paris. This season he sends his models to Mars via a
Chanel rocket. And just some weeks ago he installed some real life waterfalls for the
Paris Fashion Week show of Maison Chanel. No wonder that he chose the Elbphilharmonie as venue in Hamburg. An architectural masterpiece of a concert hall, right on the Elbe River in the city’s port.
The design of the Elbphilharmonie is wave-like and has been created by architects
Jacques Herzog and
Pierre de Meuron. Inspiration were old ancient amphitheatres like the one at Delphi. A perfect location for a perfect showcasing of the amazing work of
Karl Lagerfeld.
Chanel will showcase the pre-fall ready-to-wear collection, which
Karl Lagerfeld debuted 16 years ago. Previous locations for his Métiers d’Art collections have been the Ritz in Paris, Dallas, Salzburg and Tokyo.
His latest presentation of the Spring 2018 collection took place at
Paris Fashion Week and showed some serious chick rainwear and typical Chanel tweed pieces worn by models like
Kaia Gerber.
We are always impressed by how many collections this genius can pull off in just one year.
Karl Lagerfeld is not only designing for Chanel, but also for the Italian brand Fendi, his own brand
Karl Lagerfeld and many more. He is a true inspiration for all aspiring designers and fashion people. His style never gets old and his designs are always on point. When it comes to his collections for Chanel,
Karl Lagerfeld just knows how to combine the typical Chanel designs with modern accents. His looks are unique and his vision of fashion is astonishing.
We are getting ready to welcome
Karl Lagerfeld in his hometown and cannot wait to see what magic he does to the Elbphilharmonie.
